I graduated with honors from both the University of Maine and the University of South Alabama. My elective course concentrations included women's studies, marriage and family, abnormal personality, and addiction. Outside of the university, I studied holistic and spiritual healing that has involved obtaining certifications in hypnotherapy, energy work, herbology, reflexology, aromatherapy, and massage therapy.
I have an undergraduate degree in History and Sociology. My master's degree is in community counseling. I am a Supervising Licensed Professional Counselor, Master Addiction Counselor, and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. I have over 2,000 hours of continuing education with a concentration in addictive disorders, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. I have given many local and state workshops on topics ranging from the Mind/Body Connection to the Evidence-Based treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder.
